Back a bunch of years there was a local TV show that showed horror movies with character hosts. Real old school stuff. One of the hosts was a DJ on a local radio station to boot.
Yep.. It was Creepy KOFY Movie Time. And they'd have comedians on to do a spot during movie breaks. So I guess this counts as my first TV credit? (Not counting the community access show when I was 13 where I played "The First Noel" on flute...)
There's one specific thing I remember about this taping. They would do 2 or 3 episodes in a day. "Backstage" (some folding chairs off to the side...) I was sitting next to the acclaimed political comedian Will Durst.
Will turned to me and said "I thought we'd be past this crap by now." It made me laugh and also a little proud that he said "we" instead of "I" like I was even remotely on the same level as him.
So sit back and enjoy the weirdness that is Creepy KOFY Movie Time.
