Designer Babies!

My latest single "Designer Babies" will be officially released on June 2nd, but because you get it early because you're cool. :)

I saw a video/article about a company developing artificial wombs to create babies. We can take heart that it's actually way more in the concept stage than actual reality.

BUT, the technology will arrive at some point and make this possible. And we can see with the recent absorption of AI into our daily lives in the just the last few months, that it's never too early to talk about this stuff.

That said, this song IS a comedy song featuring a character designed to be laughed AT, not with.

I got to thinking about who would use this technology wrong. And I thought about the douchebags of the future. The ones who will go "Well, if I can use a puppy to get a woman's attention at the park, what about a baby!"

But he wouldn't want to actually have a baby that needs a lot of care. So he'd design a baby that doesn't feature some very important, if messy, functions.

Kind of like how we've bred dogs that can't even breathe right.

So feel free to laugh AT the jackass in the song. It's not me. :) It's the kind of numbnut dude that someone in the future is going to have to content with.

That said, I don't fear technology or futurism. I'm fascinated by it, in fact. But I also like to see considered discussion around it.
